Rangkaian insiden ini memicu kasus Selat Kerkyra. Britania Raya menuntut Republik Rakyat Albania di Mahkamah Internasional.[5] Mahkamah Internasional memutuskan Albania harus membayar £844.000 kepada Britania Raya.[4][6] Nilai tersebut setara dengan £29.3 juta hari ini.[7] Karena insiden ini, Britania Raya membatalkan rencana pembinaan hubungan diplomatik dengan Albania pada tahun 1946. Hubungan diplomatik kedua negara ini baru normal kembali tahun 1991.[8]
