Tenon (Thenon en francés) es una comuna d'Occitània, dins la region istorica de Perigòrd, administrada per lo departament de Dordonha de la region de Novela Aquitània, ancianament d'Aquitània.

Toponimia
La prononciacion es [te’nu][1]. Las fòrmas ancianas son Teno en 1197, Theno au segle XIII[2]. Tenon ven d'un nom latin d'òme, *Tenus, inferit de Tenatius, o *Attenus (Dauzat e Rostaing) o Attienus, *Attenus (Chantal Tanet e Tristan Hordé), o Attenus (site de las comunas de Dordonha), emb lo sufixe -onem[2],[3],[1]. Tenon èra benleu la propietat de *Tenus, o d'*Attenus.
