Sent Estefe o Sent Esteve Ledrós[1] (Saint-Estèphe en francés e ancianament St-Etienne-Le-Droux) es una comuna d'Occitània, dins la region istorica de Perigòrd, administrada per lo departament de Dordonha de la region de Novela Aquitània, ancianament d'Aquitània.
Geografia
Toponimia
La prononciacion es [ʂɛ̃ntej’teːfɛ] o [ʂɛ̃ntɛ’teːfɛ][2]. Las fòrmas ancianas son Sanctus Stephanus deus Ledros, en partida en latin, en 1253, Saint-Étienne le Droux au segle XVIII[3]. Stephanus, en grec Stephanos, « lo coronat », es lo premier martir crestian; Ledroux seriá l'occitan drolh, varietat de jarric (Chantal Tanet e Tristan Hordé)[3],[4],[2]. Ledrós es un derivat sufixat d'edra, ledra, emb l'article, donc L'Edrós (Veire Savinhac Ledrier). Estefe es una varianta mieg' sabenta d'Esteve, presenta dins los noms de gleisas e per consequent de vilatges; Esteve demòra lo pichon nom e lo patronime qu'en deriva (pas un sol patronime Estephe).
