Segon Miquèu Grosclaude, Gomèr qu'ei a arreligar dab Angomèr, descompausat per Dauzat en in (preposicion) en latin e lo nom de persona Godomar. Mès Grosclaude que pensa lo començament deu nom ariegés ei la particula nobiliària occitana En, çò qui permet de pensar la seguida deu mot ei un nom de persona. Gomèr qu'ei un antroponime d'origina germanica e adoptat dens los país occitans [2].
