ADAM8
Protein 8 koji sadrži domen dezintegrina i metaloproteinaze je enzim koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom ‘ADAM8’.[5][6]
Funkcija
Ovaj gen kodira člana porodice ADAM (domen dezintegrina i metaloproteinaze). Članovi ove porodice su proteini usidreni u membrani, strukturno srodni dezintegrinima zmijskog otrova dezintegrinima, i uključeni su u različite biološke procese koji uključuju interakcije ćelija-ćelija i ćelija-matriks, uključujući oplodnju, razvoj mišića i neurogenezu. Protein koji je kodiran ovim genom može biti uključen u adheziju ćelija tokom neurodegeneracija.[6]
