L'oldeme es parlat dins l'arrondiment de Tokombéré del departament de Mayo-Sava, qu'es restacat a la region de l'Extrèm-Nòrd[1].

L'oldeme es una lenga chadica classada per Gravina (2014) dins la branca nòrd del biu-mandara, ont fa partida del grop mofu[2].
