Biertan (hungare: Berethalom, germane: Birthälm) estas vilaĝo kaj komunuma sidejo en Rumanio oriente de Mediaş. Administre apartenas al ĝi Copșa Mare kaj Richiș.
Loĝantaro
En 1910 Berethalom havis 2 259 loĝantojn germanoj, rumanoj, ciganoj); en 1992 1 563 (rumanoj). En la censo de 2002 la 2.995 loĝantoj deklaris jenajn etnecojn:

Historio
Ĝi estis en mezepoko saksa vilaĝo. Ĝia unua mencio skriba estas el 1283 (laŭ aliaj: 1224). En 1397 ĝi estis kampurbo. Ĝis 1919 ĝi apartenis al Hungario (Nagy-Küküllő).
