Venom (з англ. — Яд/злоба) — брытанскі метал-гурт, утвораны ў 1979 годзе. Нараўне з Motörhead, якія аказалі на Venom самы непасрэдны ўплыў, з’яўляюцца адной з прота-трэшавых каманд, але пры гэтым, як і Mercyful Fate, адносіцца да першай хвалі блэк-метала. Venom аднымі з першых пачалі выкарыстоўваць сатанінскую тэматыку тэкстаў і сатанінскую сімволіку на сцэне, хаця пазней удзельнікі гурта заяўлялі, што гэта быў камерцыйны ход, і яны не з’яўляюцца прыхільнікамі сатанізму. Многія трэш-, блэк- і дэз-метал-гурты, такія як Mayhem, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Exodus, Morbid Angel, Sepultura, Celtic Frost, Metallica, Megadeth чэрпалі натхненне ў песнях Venom. Песня «Mayhem with Mercy» (з англ. «Міласціва знявечыць») дала назву вядомаму блэк-метал-гурту Mayhem.
