High tech

Ang mataas na teknolohiya (high tech), na kilala rin bilang abanteng teknolohiya (abanteng tech) o exoteknolohiya,[1][2] ay teknolohiya na nasa pinakadulo: ang pinakamataas na anyo ng teknolohiyang maaari.[3] Maaari itong tukuyin bilang alinman sa pinakakomplikado o pinakabagong teknolohiya sa merkado.[4] Ang kabaligtaran ng high tech ay mababang teknolohiya, na tumutukoy sa simple, kadalasang tradisyonal o mekanikal na teknolohiya; halimbawa, ang slide rule ay isang low-tech na device sa pagkalkula.[5][6][7] Kapag luma na ang high tech, nagiging low tech ito, halimbawa ang elektronikong vacuum tube.
Ang parirala ay ginamit sa isang 1958 The New York Times na kuwento na nagtataguyod ng "enerhiyang atomiko" para sa Europe: ". . . Isang malawakang ginagamit na klasipikasyon ng mga industriyang pagmamanupaktura ng mataas na teknolohiya ang ibinigay ng OECD noong 2006.[11] Ito ay batay sa tindi ng mga aktibidad sa pananaliksik at pagpapaunlad na ginagamit sa mga industriyang ito sa loob ng mga bansa ng OECD, na nagreresulta sa apat na natatanging kategorya.
