Windows 2000 es un sistèma operatiu 32 bits desvolopat e distribuit per Microsoft. Lo nom Windows 2000 (en abreujat : Win2000, Win2K o W2K) es en fach lo nom comercial de la version 5.0 de Windows NT. Es sortida lo 17 de febrièr de 2000 e a succedit a Windows NT 4.0, creat 4 ans abans en abril de 1996.

Windows 2000 foguèt declinat en quatre versions : Professional (abreujat en Pro), Server, Advanced Server, e Datacenter Server.

Configuracion requesida

Un processor Intel Pentium o equivalent cadenciat a 133 MHz, 32 Mo de RAM, una carta grafica suportant la resolucion SVGA (640 × 480 pixels) e 1,5 Go d'espaci disc.

64 bits envisatjat

Al debut de 2000, una novèla es publicada sul site de 01net : Windows 2000 64 bits seriá en preparacion[1]. Finalament, a la seguida de la sortida de Windows XP, aqueste projècte es abandonat.
