Vulpes ialah sebuah genus haiwan rubah dalam keluarga Canidae; ia berbeza dari jenis-jenis haiwan dalam genus Canis seperti anjing, serigala, koyote, dan jakal dengan saiznya yang lebih kecil (11–24 lb (5.0–10.9 kg)) dan tengkorak lebih rata.[2] Mukanya mempunyai tanda segi tiga hitam di antara mata dengan hidung, dan hujung ekornya kerap berwarna berbeza daripada selebih peltnya. Jangka hayat tipikal untuk genus ini adalah antara 2–4 tahun, tetapi boleh mencapai sedekad.[2]
