Titye ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kasulu in der tansanischen Region Kigoma.

Geografie

Titye ist ein ländlicher Bezirk in der Seezone im Nordwesten von Tansania. Er liegt etwa 75 Kilometer Luftlinie ostnordöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Kigoma.[2] Die Grenze im Osten bildet der Fluss Ruchugi. Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 12.266 Menschen in 2313 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 63 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Westen und im Norden an den Distrikt Kasulu (TC) und sonst an Bezirke des Distrikts Kasulu:[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus zwei Gemeinden (swahili Mtaa) mit acht Orten (Kitongoji):[6]

Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur

  • Bewässerung: Im Bezirk gibt es ein Bewässerungssystem, das 250 Hektar Anbaufläche bewässert.[7]
  • Bildung: Die Titye Secondary School ist eine staatliche weiterführende Schule, die Mädchen und Burschen bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[8][9]
  • Gesundheit: In den beiden Gemeinden Titye und Lalambe liegt je eine öffentliche Apotheke.[10][11]
