Makere ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kasulu in der tansanischen Region Kigoma.

Geografie

Makere ist ein gemischter Bezirk in der Seezone im Nordwesten von Tansania, etwa 110 Kilometer Luftlinie nordöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Kigoma. Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 62.398 Menschen in 12.039 Haushalten[1] auf einer Fläche von 276 Quadratkilometern.[2]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Osten an das Moyowosi Wildreservat und sonst an Bezirke des Distrikts Kasulu:[3]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Die Makere Secondary School ist eine staatliche weiterführende Schule. Sie bildet Mädchen und Burschen bis zur 4. Stufe aus.[4]
  • Straße: Durch den Bezirk verläuft die teilweise asphaltierte Nationalstraße T9, die nach Nordosten nach Kagera und Südwesten Richtung Kigoma führt.[5]
