Armes liegt etwa 35 Kilometer südlich von Auxerre. Die Yonne bildet die südwestliche Gemeindegrenze. Nachbargemeinden von Armes sind Clamecy im Westen und Norden, Lichères-sur-Yonne im Nordosten und Osten, Dornecy im Südosten sowie Chevroches im Süden.
