SCAMP2
Sekretorni membranski protein povezan sa nosačem 2 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom SCAMP2.[5][6] Međunarodni konzorcij za radijacijsku hibridizacijumapirao je gen SCAMP2 na hromosomu 15 (sts-W74766).
Ovaj genski proizvod pripada porodici proteina SCAMP, koji su sekretorni nosači, membranski proteini. Oni funkcioniraju kao nosači površine ćelije u putevima recikliranja nakon Golgijevog aparata. Različiti članovi porodice su srodni proizvodi različitih gena i obično su eksprimirani zajedno. Ova otkrića sugeriraju da SCAMP-ovi mogu funkcionirati na istom mjestu tokom transporta vezikula, umjesto na odvojenim putovima.[6]

Kloniranje i ekspresija
Singleton et al. (1997) pojačali su SCAMP2 pomoću PCR-a, koristeći prajmere dizajnirane od SCAMP1. Klonirali su cDNK pune dužine iz cDNK biblioteke HeLa ćelijeđa. Također su identificirali SCAMP3 kao još jedan paralog u ćelijskoj biblioteci HeLa. SCAMP2 kodira izvedeni protein od 329 aminokiselina s izračunatom molekulskom masom od 36,6 kD. Protein dijeli strukturne karakteristike sa SCAMP1 i SCAMP3, uključujući segment sličan leucinskom zatvaraču, element bogat prolinom, prošireno središnje jezgro koju uključuječetiri navodna transmembranska domena, polarni segment i C-kraj bogat alaninom. SCAMP2 dijeli 54% i 56% ukupnog identiteta sekvence sa SCAMP1, odnosno SCAMP3, odnosno 94% identiteta s mišjim homologom. Najrazličitija područja su u N-kraji. Northern blot analizom otkriven je transkript SCAMP2 od 1,3 kb, s najvećom ekspresijom u srcu, posteljici i skeletnim mišićima, srednjom ekspresijom u plućima, gušterači i jetri i niskom ekspresijom u mozgu i bubrezima. Imunofluorescentna lokalizacija u HeLa ćelijama pokazala je tačkasta obojenja sa određenim perinuklearnim i perifernim obogaćivanjem, te djelimičnu kolokalizaciju sa SCAMP1 i SCAMP3.[8]
