HTTPS (англ.: HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure — «абаронены пратакол перадачы гіпертэксту») — пратакол прыкладнога ўзроўню перадачы даных, які падтрымлівае шыфраванне.

Пратакол быў распрацаваны кампаніяй Netscape Communications для браўзера Netscape Navigator у 1994 годзе[1].

HTTPS не з’яўляецца асобным пратаколам. Гэта звычайны HTTP, які працуе праз шыфраваныя транспартныя механізмы SSL і TLS[2]. Амаль усе асноўныя элементы HTTP-злучэння шыфруюцца: URL-запыты (у тым ліку шлях і назва старонкі), параметры запыту, загалоўкі і файлы cookie, якія часта ўтрымліваюць ідэнтыфікацыйныя даныя карыстальніка. Імя або адрас хоста (вэб-сайта) і порт звычайна не шыфруюцца, бо яны выкарыстоўваюцца пратаколам TCP/IP для ўстанаўлення злучэння. Шыфраванне забяспечвае абарону ад праслухоўвання і атак пасрэдніка.
