Scutellosaurus (/skuːˌtɛloʊˈsɔːrəs/ ) adalah sebuah genus dinosaurus thyreophora basal yang hidup sekitar 196 juta tahun lalu pada masa-masa awal periode Jura di tempat yang sekarang menjadi Arizona, Amerika Serikat. Genus ini dimasukkan kedalam Thyreophora, atau dinosaurus berzirah; kerabat terdekatnya barangkali ialah Emausaurus dan Scelidosaurus, yang berjalan dengan empat kaki, tidak seperti Scutellosaurus yang bipedal. Genus ini menjadi salah satu perwakilan dinosaurus berzirah terawal dan yang menjaid wujud yang paling basal yang pernah ditemukan hingga saat ini.[1] Scutellosaurus adalah sebuah hewan herbivor terestrial kecil dan ringan, yang dapat tumbuh hingga panjang sekitar 1,3 meter (4,3 ft).
