Nothosaur (superfamili Nothosauroidea) adalah kelompok klasifikasi reptil laut sauropterygia periode Trias. Mereka memiliki panjang rata-rata yaitu 3 meter (10 ft), dengan ekor serta tubuh yang panjang.[1] Kaki mereka mirip dayung, dan diketahui memiliki selaput, membantu mereka saat berenang.[2] Leher mereka panjang, dan kepalanya memanjang dan pipih, relatif kecil bila dibandingkan dengan tubuhnya. Di tepian rahang panjangnya terdapat gigi-gigi tajam yang mengarah keluar, mengindikasikan bahwa nothosaur memakan ikan dan cumi-cumi.
