Triptofan

Lo triptofan es un deis aminoacids transcripcionaus que forman lei proteïnas deis èssers vivants. Es essenciau en la nutricion umana. L'abreviacion d'una letra es W e la de tres letras Trp. Sa formula quimica bruta es C₁₁H₁₂N₂O₂ e sa massa moleculara de 204,23 Da. Dins l'ARNm, es codificada coma UGG (cf. còde genetic).

Es tanben un precursor de la serotonina, un neurotransmeteire e de la melatonina, una ormona neurala.
