Pintac (Pintac en francés) qu'ei ua comuna gascona situada dens lo departament deus Hauts Pirenèus e la region administrativa d'Occitània, ancianament de Miègjorn-Pirenèus.

Toponimia
La prononciacion qu'ei [pin'tak] (grafia fonetica deus autors). Ua sola fòrma anciana : Pintac (mapa de Cassini, a la fin deu sègle XVIII)[2].
Segon Dauzat e Rostaing, Pintac que vien deu nom latin d'òme *Pintus, derivat de Pintius, dab lo sufixe -acum[3].
Segon Negre, Pintac que vien benlhèu de l'adjectiu latin penitus, « intime, interior » vienut nom de persona, dab lo sufixe -acum'[2].
Segon Miquèu Grosclaude, Penitus + -acum qu'auré miat a Peitac per tombada de -n- intervocalica. Que vau mei tornar a la solucion de Dauzat e Rostaing[2].
