Toponimia
Lo nom de Chavanac ven dau nom gallés d'òme Cavannus emb lo sufixe -acum [1], latinizacion dau sufixe gallés -aco(n). Chavanac èra donc probablament una anciana granda propietat antica qu'aviá per mèstre Cavannus.
