L'origina latina del nom es dobtosa, e la comuna d'Angeduc deu benleu son apellacion au nom d'origina germanica Engeldich, possible nom d'un barbare qu'auriá elegit domicili dins sos luecs[5][6][7]. Segon Ernèst Negre, lo nom ven dau nom de persona germanic Angedrudis, emb una attraccion au oïl duc[8].
