Cheloniidae ialah keluarga kebanyakan penyu laut yang mempunyai ciri-ciri sama seperti: Bertempurung luas, cembung kemas dan berkaki depan pendayung. Enam spesies dikelaskan dalam keluarga ini, iaitu penyu hijau, penyu tempayan, penyu lipas Pasifik, penyu karah, penyu pipih dan penyu lipas Atlantik.
