The Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party is the municipal committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Shanghai.[1] The CCP committee secretary is the highest ranking post in the city and outranks the mayor, who is generally the deputy secretary of the committee.[1] The current secretary is Chen Jining, a member of the CCP Politburo,[2] who replaced Li Qiang on 28 October 2022.[3]

The committee is elected every five years by the Shanghai Municipal Congress of the CCP.[4] The permanent body of the committee is its Standing Committee.[5]
