Transkripcijski faktor 1 nediferenciranih embrionskih ćelija je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom UTF1.[5] UTF1, prvi put prijavljen 1998., eksprimira se u pluripotentnim ćelijama uključujući embrionske matične ćelije i ćelije embrionskog karcinoma.[6] Nakon diferencijacije, njegova ekspresija brzo se smanjuje. UTF1 protein je lokaliziran u ćelijskom jedru , gdje funkcionira za regulaciju pluripotentnog stanja hromatina i pufera iRNK, promoviranjem razgradnje iRNK.[7]

Aberantna ekspresija UTF1 zabilježena je i u ćelijama raka grlića maternice, gdje UTF1 genski promotor gubi metilaciju i postaje abnormalno eksprimiran u usporedbi s normalnim ćelijama vrata maternice.[8]
