Tuberoinfundibulski peptid od 39 ostataka je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom PTH2.[5][6]
TIP39 povezan je s paratiroidnim hormonom (PTH; MIM 168450) i s proteinima povezanim s PTH (PTHRP; MIM 168470) i ligand je za PTH receptor-2 (PTHR2; MIM 601469), prema OMIM-u.[6]
Molekulska interakcija TIP39 s receptorima PTH2 okarakterizirana je u 3D detaljima, identificirajući među ostalim ostacima Tyr-318 u transmembranskoj spirali 5, kao ključni ostatak za vezanje s visokim afinitetom [7]
