Funkcija

Ovaj gen kodira serin-proteazu eksprimiranu isključivo u timusu. Smatra se da ima ulogu u alternativnom putu prezentacije antigena koji koriste epitelne ćelije kore timusa, tokom pozitivne selekcije T-ćelija.

Gen se nalazi u velikoj grupi histonskih gena na hromosomu 6, u blizini glavnog kompleksa histokompatibilnosti (MHC) klase I. Opisana je druga varijanta transkripta, ali nije utvrđena njena puna dužina.[6]
