GMT je engleska skraćenica za Greenwich Mean Time, a ime je dobilo po nultom meridijanu, koji prolazi kroz opservatorij u Greenwichu kraj Londona.
Danas ta skraćenica izlazi iz upotrebe (osim u pomorstvu, gdje je zadržala svoje tradicionalno ime), zamjenjuje je UTC što znači Koordinirano svjetsko vrijeme.
