Vjerovatni protein dugog transkripta fibrozin-1 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom FBRS.[5][6][7]

Fibrozin je limfokin kojeg luče aktivirani limfociti, a inducita proliferaciju fibroblasta (Prakash i Robbins, 1998)., prema OMIM-u.[7]

Kloniranje i ekspresija

Koristeći mišji fibrozin kao sondu za pregled biblioteka cDNK leukocita periferne krvi i posteljice, Prakash i Robbins (1998) klonirali su FBS1. Izvedeni protein sa 177 aminokiselina ima najmanje jednomjesto N-glikozilacije. Gel filtracija je pokazala da FBS1 ima prividnu molekulski masu od oko 25 kD. Mišji i ljudski fibrozin imaju 72,5% aminokiselinskog identiteta. Northern blot analizom u posteljici, otkriveni su transkripti od 4,4 kb i 2,0 do 2,4 kb. Funkcija gena

Prakash i Robbins (1998) pokazali su da se fibrozin izlučuje u medij za kulturu limfocitima stimuliranim mitogenom i indukuje proliferaciju u primarnim ljudskim diploidnim fibroblastima.
