Centronics

Cetronics je ime za paralelni međusklop[1] koji se pojavio na tržištu u 1970-tim godinama i bio izuzetno popularan za spajanje računara sa pisačem prije pojave USB-a. Ovaj međusklop je dobio ime po američkom proizvođaču igličnih pisača Centronics iz Hudsona (New Hampshire) koja ga je razvila. Centronics je započeo kao odjel Wang Laboratories.

Centronics je dugo bio kvazi standard i tek 1994. IEEE je ratificirao ovaj međusklop koji je kasnije dobio ime IEEE 1284, no kolokvijalno Centronics je bilo popularnije ime što je bio rezultat kasne ratifikacije.
