Funkcija

Uridin-monofosfat (UMP)/citidin monofosfat (CMP) kinaza (EC 2.7.4.4) katalizira transfer fosforilaciju sa ATP-a na UMP, CMP i deoksi-CMP (dCMP), što rezultira stvaranjem ADP-a i odgovarajućeg nukleozid-difosfata. Ovi nukleozid-difosfati potrebni su za sintezu ćelijske nukleinske kiseline.[6][8]
