Hromoboksni homolog 7 jest protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom CBX7 sa hromosoma 22.[5] Pokazalo se da gubitak ekspresija gena CBX7 korelira sa malignim oblikom karcinomom štitnjače.[6]

Obavljeno je 26 testova i prijavljena su tri značajno nenormalna fenotipa. Homozigotne mutantne odrasle ženke pokazale su smanjen odgovor na hipertermiju izazvanu stresom i imale su povećan broj crvenih krvnih zrnaca. Kada je pregledana epiderma repa, životinje oba spola imale su fenotip integumenta.[11]
