Bepmel (offiziell: Bettwil) isch en Iiwohnergmeind im Bezirk Muri im Schwiizer Kanton Aargau. Es isch s höchscht glägeni Dorf vom ganze Kanton.
Geographii
De Gmeindsbann isch 425 Hektare gross, dodervo sind 91 Hektare Wald und 41 Hektare überbaut. De höchschti Punkt isch uf 760 Meter, der tüüfschti uf 649. Nochbargmeinde sind Sarmistorf im Norde, Challere im Nordoschte, Bosmel im Oschte, Butel im Südoschte, Schongau im Süde und Faarwange im Weschte.

Bepmel isch zum erschte Mol in eme Zinsrodel vom Fraumöischter z Züri us em Johr 893 erwähnt worde. Vo 1200 bis ins 1412 het Bepmel de Herre vo Heidegg ghört. D Bevölkerig het sich dann freichauft und sich freiwillig de Habsburger unterschtellt, wo im 1415 d Landesherrschaft aber an d Eidgnosse verlore hei.
Bepmel isch es eiges Amt innerhalb vom Freiamt worde, ere gmeine Herrschaft. Im März 1798 sin d Franzose in d Schwiiz iimarschiirt un hei di Helvetisch Republik usgruefe. Bäsibüre het in dere Ziit zum Kanton Bade ghört, wo 1803 zum noie Kanton Aargau cho isch.
