Hedjkheperre Setepenre Smendes adalah pendiri dinasti keduapuluh satu Mesir.
Asal usul Smendes masih belum diketahui, tetapi diduga ia adalah seorang gubernur yang kuat di Mesir Hilir pada masa kekuasaan Ramses XI.
