Lycaenops ("muka serigala") adalah sebuah genus therapsida karnivor. Genus ini hidup di periode Perem Tengah hingga awal Perem Akhir, sekitar 260 jtl, di wilayah yang kini merupakan Afrika Selatan.[1]

Seperti serigala modern, Lycaenops memiliki tengkorak yang panjang dan ramping, dengan taring mirip anjing di rahang atas dan bawahnya.[2] Gigi taring runcing ini ideal untuk menusuk dan merobek daging mangsa besar. Lycaenops kemungkinan besar berburu vertebrata kecil seperti reptil dan dicynodont.

Hewan ini berjalan dan berlari dengan kaki panjangnya yang diposisikan di dekat tubuhnya. Ciri ini ditemukan pada mamalia tetapi tidak pada amniota yang lebih primitif, reptil awal, dan synapsida seperti pelycosauria, yang memiliki kaki yang terposisikan di samping tubuh mereka. Kemampuan untuk bergerak seperti mamalia memberi keuntungan untuk Lycaenops dibandingkan dengan vertebrata darat lain karena dapat berlari lebih cepat dari mereka.
