Lutjanus merupakan sebuah genus ikan kakap (Lutjanidae). Ikan kakap dalam genus ini ditemukan di Samudera Atlantik, Hindia, dan Pasifik. Mereka merupakan ikan predator yang biasanya ditemukan di terumbu karang tropis dan subtropis, serta hutan bakau. Genus ini juga meliputi dua spesies ikan kakap yang hanya terdapat di perairan tawar dan payau.
