Euryale lissa adalah spesies fosil dari Euryale dari masa Pliosen di Brunssum, Provinsi Limburg, Belanda[1] dan dari Höchst, Jerman.[2][3]

Deskripsi

Biji yang berbentuk obovata (bulat telur terbalik), halus, dengan panjang 7 mm dan lebar 6 mm ini memiliki rafe yang menonjol.[4] Permukaan bijinya halus[2] atau memiliki tekstur bergranula halus.[4]

Taksonomi

Spesies ini pertama kali dipublikasikan sebagai Euryale lissa C. Reid, E. Reid oleh Clement Reid dan Eleanor Mary Reid pada tahun 1915.[4][1] Terdapat usulan untuk menempatkannya dalam genus terpisah, yakni Pseudoeuryale P.I. Dorof., menjadi Pseudoeuryale lissa (C. Reid, E. Reid) Doweld yang dipublikasikan oleh Alexander Borisovitch Doweld pada tahun 2022.[5][6] Dalam satu penelitian, disarankan bahwa Euryale lissa mungkin merupakan biji yang belum matang dari Euryale limburgensis.[7]

Persebaran

Spesies ini ditemukan di lokasi tipe di Brunssum, Provinsi Limburg, Belanda,[1] dan dari Höchst, Jerman.[2][3]
