Simolestes (hearkening thief) là một chi pliosaurs đã tuyệt chủng, chúng tồn tại vào Trung và Jura muộn. Ba loài được biết đến cho tới nay là:
- Simolestes keileni niên đại từ tầng Bajoci tìm thấy ở Pháp
- Simolestes vorax niên đại từ tầng Callovi tìm thấy ở thành hệ Oxford Clay, Anh.
- Simolestes indicus niên đại từ tầng Tithoni phát hiện tại Ấn Độ
Simolestes có thể đạt chiều dài 10m.[2]
Phân loại
Cây phát sinh loài dưới đây dựa trên những phân tích của hai nhà cổ sinh vật học Hilary F. Ketchum and Roger B. J. Benson vào năm 2011 và chỉ lược bỏ một số chi.[3]
