Melanorosaurus (nghĩa là "thằn lằn núi đen", từ tiếng Hy Lạp melas/μέλας, "đen", oros/ὄρος, "núi" + sauros/σαῦρος, "thằn lằn"), là một chi khủng long sauropodomorpha từng sống vào thời kỳ Trias muộn. Chúng là động vật ăn thực vật và sống ở Nam Mỹ.

Melanorosaurus có hộp sọ đo khoảng 250 mm. Mõm có phần nhọn, và hộp sọ có hình tam giác khi nhìn từ trên hoặc dưới. Premaxilla có bốn răng ở mỗi bên, một đặc điểm của sauricomom nguyên thủy. Hàm trên có 19 răng ở mỗi bên hàm. [1]
Melanorosaurus dài khoảng 8 mét (26 ft), với trọng lượng 1,3 tấn (1,3 tấn dài). [2]
