Sentrosoma

Sa biolohiya ng selula, ang sentrosoma (Ingles: centrosome) ay isang organelo na nagsisilbi bilan gpangunahing sentrong nangangasiwa ng mikrotubula ng selula ng hayop gayundin din bilang taga regular ng pagpapatuloy ng siklo ng selula. Ito ay natuklasan ni Edouard Van Beneden noong 1883 [1] at inilarawan at pinangalanan noong 1888 ni Theodor Boveri.[2] Sa ebolusyon, ang sentrosoma ay inakalang nag-ebolb lamang sa liping metazoa ng mga selulang eukaryotiko.[3] Fungi and plants use other MTOC structures to organize their microtubules.[4][5] Bagaman ang sentrosoma ay may mahalagang papel sa maiging mitosis sa mga selulang hayop, ito ay hindi mahalaga.[6][7][8] Ang mga sentrosoma ay binubuo ng dalawang mga ortogonal na isinaayos na mga sentriyol na napapalibutan ng amorposong masa ng protinang tinagurian na materyal na perisentriyolar o PCM.
