Ang Basseterre /bæsˈtɛər/ ay ang kabisera at ang pinakamalaking lungsod ng San Cristobal at Nieves na may isang tinatayang populasyon na 14,000 noong 2018.[1] Sa heograpiya, matatagpuan ang puwerto sa 17°18′N 62°44′W / 17.300°N 62.733°W / 17.300; -62.733{{#coordinates:}}: hindi maaaring magkaroon ng isang pangunahing tatak sa bawa't pahina, sa timog kanluran ng baybayin ng Pulo ng San Cristobal, at isa ito sa pangunahing himpilan sa Kalupaang Leeward. Natatag ang Basseterre noong 1627 ng mga Pranses, sa ilalim ni Sieur Pierre Belain d'Esnambuc. Nagsilbi itong kabisera ng kolonyang Pranses ng Saint-Christophe, na binubuo ng hilaga at timog na pinakamalayong dako ng pulo ng San Cristobal (ang sentrong sinuko sa Briton). Nang ginawang Pranses na gobernador si Phillippe de Longvilliers de Poincy ng San Cristobal noong 1639, ang bayan ay naging isang malaki, matagumpay na daungan, na pinamumunuan ang kalakal at kolonisasyon ng Silangang Karibe.
