Toponimia
Atestacions: Sanctus Prejectus (1197), Saint Prie la Marche s. XIV, Saint Projet sus de mapas del s. XVIII, Saint Prejet sus la mapa de Cassini, Saint Prejay la Marche 1776, se pòt propausar Sent Priet de Marcha. A la revolucion francesa la comuna portèt qualque temps lo nom de Font-Indre.
Geografia
Al Sud del departament de Char, la comuna de Sent Priet es al limit dels departaments d'Endre e de Cruesa. Es sus son territòri qu'Endre ten la font (veire lo nom revolucionari Fònt d'Endre).
