Segon Dauzat e Rostaing, los Féniés, Sent Germer representaré Garimar, avesque de Tolosa au sègle VI. I a un aute Garimar abat en França, mes en Gasconha lo nom es - normalament - lo de l'avesque tolosan [2],[3],[4]. I a un problèma fonetic : Ga > Ja > (Ge) ? Nom reinterpretat en fonetica d'oïl e transferit ?
Segon Negre, Sent Germer representa Germerius[5].
Istòria
Lo castèth de Sent Germier, situat sus la comuna, ho bastit cap a l'an 1200 e agoc la visita d'Enric IV en 1579.
