Dins la mitologia egipciana Osiris èra un dels dieus màgers. Èra un dieu de la vida, de la mòrt e de la resurreccion. Ditz la legenda que foguèt enterrat dins la vila d'Abydos que n'èra lo protector.

Èra lo dieu del mond inferior e tanben de la fertilitat e de l'agricultura. Amb sa molher qu'èra tanben sa sòrre Isis foguèt lo paire d'Òrus. Beb èra son ainat. Mai tard foguèt religat a Seker e Ptah per crear Ptah-Seker-Osiris e seriá identificat amb Heryshaf.
