Mende (Mende en francés) es una vila occitana de Gavaudan en Lengadòc. Es situada dins lo departament de Losera e la region administrativa d'Occitània, ancianament de Lengadòc-Rosselhon.
Geografia
Mende es situat dins la nauta val d'Òlt, en zona de mejana montanha, dins lo país de Gavaudan, lo Riucròs s'i geta en riba drecha. La vila es dominada pel mont Mimat e son bòsc de pins negres. Per i anar, cal prene la còsta de la Crotz Nòva. Riba drecha, los quartièrs residencials s'estendon suls causses. Situat sus l'ais Lion-Tolosa, la vila foguèt longtemps un caireforç comercial entre Auvèrnhe, Ròse e Lengadòc.
La comuna confronta Rieutòrt de Randon e Lo Chastèl al nòrd, Badarosc a l'èst, Lanuèjols al sud-èst, Brenosc e Sent Bausèli al sud, Balsièja al sud-oèst, Barjac e Cervièiras a l'oèst.
