Lo mandarin es la lenga chinesa mai importanta de totas las lengas chinesas.
Lo mandarin estandard es basat sul dialècte mandarin de Beijing e es la lenga oficiala de la Republica Populara de China, de Taiwan e de Singapor. Los dialèctes mandarins son parlats per mai d'un miliard de personas en 2015.
En 2013 lo siti ethnologue[1] estimava a 897 000 000 las personas qu'an un dialècte mandarin coma langa mairala e a 194 000 000 los que parlan un dialècte mandarin coma lenga segonda (siá un total de 1 091 000 000).
Lo mandarin es la lenga mai parlada pels Han mas es tanben venguda la lenga mairala de mai d'una minoritat (manchó, hui, she...). Es una lenga en expansion, en China coma dins la diaspora chinesa.
Nom chinés
Lo tèrme chinés mai general que recampa totas las varietats del mandarin, es "běifānghuà" (北方话, parlar del nòrd) o "guānhuà" (官话, parlar dels mandarins).
La varietat oficiala del mandarin, o mandarin estandard, se sona "pǔtōnghuà" (普通话, parlar comun) dins la Republica Populara de China e "guóyǔ" (国语, lenga nacionala) a Taiwan.
Distribucion territoriala
Lo mandarin es parlat istoricament dins lo nòrd de China, en particular dins la plana septentrionala de China. S'espandiguèt dins totas las direccions dempuèi l'an 1000. A l'ora d'ara es una lenga en expansion, emai dins las grandas vilas meridionalas (Shenzhen, Shanghai...) que los immigrants del nòrd i son nombroses. Fòra la Republica Populara de China, los dialèctes mandarins son parlats, sensa èsser majoritaris, a Taiwan, Singapor e dins la diaspora chinesa.
