Lo Còdi

Lo Còdi es un recuèlh de leis escrich en occitan que s'inspira del còdi de l'emperador Justinian. Sembla que foguèt escrich a Arle cap a 1145. L'òbra representèt una ruptura dins l'usatge del latin, remplaçat aquí per l'occitan, dins aquesta mena de tèxtes. Serviguèt de font d'inspiracion de mantuna òbra juridica e foguèt revirat dins fòrça lengas europèas.

Istòria

Lo Còdi, òbra elaborada a la primièra part del sègle XII, es probablament lo tèxt juridic mai ancian en lenga vulgara. Aquel escrich foguèt revirat dins divèrsas lengas romanicas, coma lo catalan, l'espanhòl e mai en latin per Ricard de Pisa.

Lo tèxt foguèt redescobèrt durant lo sègle XIX. L'erudit provençal Just Rainoard l'utilizèt abondosament per redigir son Lexique Roman e es estat pro estudiat per divèrses filològs alemands. Ne demòran divèrses manuscriches que d'unes son servats a la Sorbonne.
