Ilderic èra lo filh d'Uneric e lo felen del grand rei Genseric. Sa maire, Eudocia, èra filha de l'emperaire roman, Valentinian III[1].
Politica exteriora
Faguèt un cambiament important dins la politica del reialme vandal. Sos davancièrs avian defugits los contactes amb l'Empèri Bizantin, aquò per mostrar l'independéncia politica del reialme. Ilderic establís de relacions amb l'emperaire de Constantinòble[2].
