Charanta (Chérente en peitavin-santongés, Charente en francés) es un departament de França que ten son nom dau riu dau mesme nom. Sa partida orientala se situa en Occitània (Lemosin) e forma la Charanta Occitana (inclusent la Charanta Lemosina au nòrd-est).
