Le nom occitan dau vialatge es Cosde[1]. Ven de la designacion topografica galesa Cosate, que le vialatge es situat a l'embochadura dau riu La Cosa[2]. Avèm maitot l'atestacion Capelle Cosdensis en 1060 e Coysde au sègle XIV.
